CALL 07990755180 or Derby 761721
I charge £65 for the first hour and then £45 for each additional hour after that (labour only).
For boiler servicing, please visit my BOILER SERVICING page.
Sometimes a job might only take a few minutes to complete (for example, changing a tap washer or topping up boiler pressure). In these instances a flat charge of £40 would apply. I can appreciate that this may sound a lot for such a quick job, but you must realise that I have to cover time and expenses i.e. getting to and from the job, insurance etc.
If the fault cannot be diagnosed or a repair just isn't possible, then you will not have to pay the minimum charge. You will be given advice on the best course of action. So if it cannot be repaired then there is no charge!
The aim is to sort out the problem during the initial visit. I do carry many common spare parts on the van to enable me to do this. However, sometimes a part will need to be ordered or collected from the merchants and a second visit arranged.
Cash, cheque, bank transfer and credit/debit card.
No. There is no additional charge for paying by debit or credit card.
Yes. I can send you a receipt by email, or if you prefer, I can write you one out on headed paper.
The cost of parts needed for the job will be worked out at cost + 15%. For example: if the part cost me £10 to buy you will be charged £11.50 for it. I do only supply good quality parts as I see cheap parts as a false economy. For example: you can get a toilet valve these days for as little as £5 but I would always strongly recommend fitting a quality £15 one!
Sometimes your boiler will require new gaskets or seals. This will depend on the age, make, condition and service history of your appliance. For example, Vaillant, GlowWorm, Baxi and Worcester recommend replacing the burner gasket on many of their boilers every 5 years. This is why it is important that you can give as much information as possible when you book your service.
Yes. If you have an emergency such as a water or gas leak, then I will attend if possible. Please keep in mind that I work on my own so it's not always possible for me to attend right away!
My normal hours of work are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Yes. All my work comes with a 12 month guarantee. In the unlikely event that a problem arises due to installation, then simply get in touch and I will put it right.
No. Gas boilers and fires are the only appliances I repair.
No. I don't fit new boilers. I only do service and repair work.
I don't take on complete bathroom refurbishments as I tend to stick to smaller installation, servicing and repair work. Your best option here is to employ a company that specialises in bathroom refurbishments.
I cover all areas of Derby including: Allestree, Chellaston, Allenton, Chaddesden, Normanton, Sinfin, Stenson, Darley, Heatherton, Oakwood, Littleover, Mickleover, Spondon, Mackworth, Alvaston, and anywhere within five miles of Derby.
Yes. I am Gas Safe Registered (Registration No. 591566). Qualified to work on gas cookers, fires, boilers, and associated gas pipework.
I always issue a certificate when I carry out an appliance service or l a landlord safety check. If it is small gas work such as capping a gas pipe then a certificate isn't necessary (but I can issue one if requested).
I am happy to complete an electronic (emailed) certificate or a paper copy.
No. I made the decision a few years back to no longer fit boilers and fires.
Yes. For more information visit my 'GAS' page.
Very often when people move home they take their gas cooker with them. I will fit your existing cooker providing you have the manufacturers instructions (can usually be downloaded from web), and that it is up to current standards, fully working, and in good condition.
